Wow...this is not Irish dancing!

We were told by one of Gianna's friends to meet her at an Irish music event on the north side of Vittorio Veneto. We got all dressed up and ready to go by 9:00 and drove there, through the forest and down a long and twisty road. At the end of the road, there was a big burly man with a huge leather jacket on, big black boots, and long crazy hair...a biker! He was waving a flashlight in the air, telling us where to park our car. In the distance from the road, you could see tents lined up and music was playing very loud...though not Irish music! We were a little confused and I thought we just found the wrong party but from the looks of it, we were in the right place. Let's just say that it looked more like Oz Fest than any Irish dance festival I could ever have pictured! The only thing we saw was leather, motorcycles, and young people wanting to get drunk on a Friday night. This was no place to bring the girls and definitely not a place to have a little Irish jig! Sooo...after a good laugh, we decided to go downtown to Serravalle. Every Friday night in the summer they have different activities in every piazza. Tonight, there was live music everywhere, a competition for the Red Cross Rescue dogs, and some karate instructions. All the shops and museums are open so it is a great night to go out and see the town. We had gelato and then decided to go home because the girls were so tired! Tomorrow we are going to the beach!!! We leave at 6am so my beach bag is packed and I am ready to go! Ciao!

  1. How are you ever going to be able to leave? Every day sounds like a dream.

    1. I know Michelle! I keep thinking to myself that this can't ever end...I could live in this reality for a little while longer. It is so fun that it doesn't ever feel like I am working and I just keep having a blast! Tomorrow I am off to Padova so stay tuned!
