Pool, Pasta, Pizza....Fantastic Day!
Today I woke up and felt so sore from walking so much yesterday! I was practically waddling down the stairs...I feel much better now than this morning. I think I didn't drink enough water yesterday either because all I did today was drink water! Even though I bought at least 7 bottles of water and brought 2 with me to Verona...the humidity here is crazy. This morning, we went into the pool in the backyard. Momo LOVES the water so he was trying to figure out if he could jump into the blue pool with us. I felt so bad for him and he was really hot so I filled up the little kiddie pool for him. I knew I was going to have to clean a very muddy dog later on but he was just too hot to not go in the water. After the pool, I showered the girls off and made pasta for lunch. Oh, and for breakfast, I have been making eggs almost every morning for myself. The girls tried them one day and thought they were delicious so every morning now, I make eggs and they watch a cartoon. It is one of the first things they say to me in the morning, "Addie, eggs por favore!" We took a good nap this afternoon, with Momo on the couch with me. He has been really attached to me lately and won't leave my side in the house. He never has been on the couch before but when I woke up from my nap, he was on my feet on the couch! Very strange for him but he must love me! We practiced our English flash cards for an hour or so until Gianna got home. She went for a run and the girls and I watched a movie about Alaska while I folded a ton of laundry. We had pizza outside for dinner and then it started to rain with thunder and lightning so we went inside. Tomorrow, Angelo, the girls and I are going to Bolzano and Merano, a 3 hour drive from here. They are small towns in the mountains, almost on the border of Austria. They speak both German and Italian there and use them together in everyday life. Angelo told me tonight that after WW1, Italy, Austria, and Germany's country boundaries were officially made. Bolzano and Merano were heavily German or Austrian towns, and not Italian. They kept the language and culture the same but it is technically still in Italy. Angelo said that it is like no other place because you know you are in Italy but it feels like you are in Germany or Austria! The language, the restaurants, the architecture...everything is different than what I am used to here. I can't wait to explore another city and have the girls with me. I think Angelo is going to come with us to Bolzano but Merano we will be by ourselves. He said we are eating lunch at a famous brewery that makes Forst beers. I have tried it here and it is a very good quality beer. The brewery is located in Merano and from what it sounds like, the food is out of this world! I can't wait to try something new! Well, that's it for me...I am off to bed because I have to be up at 6am to leave at 7:00. It will be a long day but I am looking forward to exploring somewhere new! Ciao!
