Okay, that's enough adventure for today!
Well, today was pretty fun but a little stressful! The family left for their holiday around 1:00 today so they dropped me off downtown for an afternoon of exploring Serravalle, the oldest part of Vittorio Veneto. First off my list of things to do, go to the post office to send off some postcards that I wrote out this morning. I walked there and of course, they close early on Saturdays! I guess that will have to wait until Monday...you will probably receive my postcards after I get home but hey, I tried! I don't even know how long it takes to get a postcard from Italy to Idaho but I'm assuming it is longer than 2 1/2 weeks! So to make me feel better about not getting my postcards sent out today, I went to my favorite pizza place across the street! My next item on the list was finding a farmacia or a market open that I could buy a staple here in Northern Italy...deodorant! I brought one full stick and a travel size deodorant from home and I have used it all up! I guess when you shower 2, sometimes 3 times a day, you use a lot of deodorant. Well, once again, I struck out because I couldn't find a market to save my life and all the farmacia's were closed because it was during pranzo, the LONG lunch break from about 12:30 to 3:30. My third and final mission was to go to that mystery museum that I couldn't find one of the first days I was here, Museo de Cenedese. I walked all the way to Serravalle to the museum but of course, it didn't open again until 3:00. Since it was only 1:30, I walked around for awhile and took some awesome pictures. I had a nice cappucino...but the only problem was the coffee was about as hot as it was outside! Today was about 32 degrees celcius, meaning it was about 98 degrees here! Not including the deadly humidity! Man, it is rough! Finally it was 3:00 and I went in to see what this museum had to offer. I didn't even know what they had to show but it was more of me checking it off my list from the beginning of my trip. I tried to find this dang museum for hours so I just had to go see what was inside! It was 5 levels high, with a huge wooden spiral staircase to get to every level. It was a very pretty museum with a lot of nice frescos and paintings. I learned the hard way that I was not allowed to take pictures...I only took one before the lady said oh no, no pictures! I was glad I went there but now, it was time to find a bus home. I waited for a bus that I had never taken before so I wasn't sure where it went specifically. I was hoping it had a stop that I recognized so I could find the bus line that I needed to get home. Luckily, I figured out where I was and then made it on the bus home. I picked up Momo from home and then we walked to the shop for some food for the weekend. I bought some fresh mozzarella, proscutto, two liters of peach tea, a loaf of bread, and some cookies! Delicious! When I got home, Natalie and I skyped for two hours! I gave her a tour of the house and talked about everything Italy! 4 more days! Tonight for dinner, I had some pizza and the fresh mozzarella with sliced tomatoes and oil, now my new favorite meal! Momo and I are home alone tonight and I am loving it! The air conditioning is a blowing, the shower is done, and I am ready to relax! What an awesome day! Now, I am off to play ball with Momo one last time tonight. He has a lot of energy! Ciao!
