Playing with the Girls
Today was pretty low key around here. I slept in this morning, with the air conditioner so I slept very well! I did a load of laundry and then watched an episode of "The Big Bang Theory"! Man, I love that show. Then, I made a delicious lunch with penne pasta, lots of fresh parmesan, olive oil, pepper, and some ragu sauce that Gianna made from scratch. It was pretty good but I made too much so I gave a little bit to my new best friend, Momo! He was dying to try just a little bite! After lunch, Gianna came home for a bit and asked me if I could go get the girls from school. It was ridiculously hot outside so I thought I would try and ride the bike there to see if it would be faster. Holy moses...way to hot to go anywhere, especially on a bike uphill! I eventually made it there, sweaty as all get out, and walked the girls home. We watched a few cartoons and did a puzzle while Maria and Daniel came over to clean. It has been so nice to have a person around my age that can speak English come over once in awhile so we can have a chat. He is going to be gone all next week because he is going to the sea with his friends. It sounds like that is the main drag for the summer months. Anna, Giulia, and I colored some pictures and then it was time for dinner. Tonight we had a very good pasta that was green and flat. It almost looked like pea pods but it was very good! With a little ragu sauce and of course, some olive oil and fresh parmesan, it was the best. The girls fell asleep watching a show about the Amazon tonight so Gianna and I had to wake them up to get them ready for bed...not an easy task. After brushing their teeth, changing their clothes, giving them a fast rinse in the shower, and having them use the bathroom, they were definitely ready to go to bed. Tomorrow, I am going to get the girls from school around 1:00 and then Gianna's mom and her boyfriend are coming for dinner. They live in Chioggia, Italy which is about 2 hours away I think. Her mom is very nice and it should be fun to have guests over to the house! Ciao for now, I am going to sleep but more updates tomorrow!
