Beach Day!
We had a really great day at the beach today. We went about one hour away to the Adriatic Sea, through many small towns that I should have wrote down. I need to get better at writing down words or sayings that I need to know or to towns that I have been to. There are so many small towns that I get confused which ones they are! We had too much stuff and people, plus a big dog, to take one car so we took two. Giulio and I took his Fiat and the rest of the family took their Kia SUV. Giulio likes Justin Timberlake and really likes the new Pharell Williams song. We listened to it at least 4 times on the way to the beach today! It has been stuck in my head all day. He drove back to Milan today after the beach. It was nice to have him around for a translator so I will miss having him around for sure! He asked if I wanted to come to Milan to visit and I said absolutely!!! Nat, if you come, we have got to go together! It sounds like everything there is much more expensive than other places in Italy but worth going to check it out.
Anna, Giulia, and I played in the water today. I only got sunburned a little bit, on my back and the backs of my legs...I shouldn't have fell asleep in the sun! We all took a little nap and my legs and one shoulder were poking out of the umbrella...oops. We played raquet, also known as raquetball with two plastic racquets and a plastic ball. Italians call basketball just basket, racquetball just racquet...they must think the ball is implied? Haha I thought it was funny. And of course, soccer is football, there is no football...I was corrected of that very quickly....also very funny! Momo, their dog, has more energy than I have ever seen. He swims so fast and never stops fetching for his favorite football (shaped like a soccer ball). Oh, by the way, Italian beaches should just be known for at least 10 or so people being completely naked and walking around...I forgot that this was normal and not weird to anyone but me. Some people were just coming up to our umbrella to say hi to Momo with no clothes on....very strange but I guess I should have known. This is how it was in Capri and the beaches I have been to before in Europe.
