A Beautiful Night in Vittorio Veneto

Today was the last day of school for the girls. Anna stayed home with me today and felt much better...after I made her scrambled eggs and we watched a lot of cartoons! I keep forgetting to mention that there is a television channel that is ONLY for Pippi Longstockings!!! The kids here are obsessed with her and can't get enough of her! It is the Swedish version so it is translated into Italian but I thought that was pretty weird to have a whole channel dedicated only to Pippi! Anyway, we waited for Gianna and Giulia to get home from school around 1:00 so we could eat lunch. I made tortellini and pears...as in I boiled the tortellini and cut up pears. It sounds a lot better than what it was! We took a nice nap and then it was time to get ready to go to dinner. We went to a nice pizzeria that is across the street from their parafarmacia. They let dogs come in to the restaurants here with no problems so Momo always comes to eat with us wherever we go. He just lays under the table, waiting for someone to drop him a piece of food. He is a very well behaved dog that loved to be around people. The pizza was excellent! Nat, we will have to go when you come here! I guess there was a celebration of sorts tonight in Veneto. I don't exactly know the occasion but every Friday night in June, there is a lot of events happening downtown. There were bands playing on every other corner, a Zumba demonstration, a puppet show for the kids, and a lot of the businesses were open late so you could shop as well. It was packed with people and everyone was dancing and meeting up with friends. Everyone has a dog here it seems like! There are a lot of big mountain dogs, like Newfoundlands, Retrievers, and Labradors. They are all so sweet and very friendly. By the time we were making the LONG walk back to our car, the girls were exhausted and were sleep walking. They are the kind of kids that can sleep anywhere with any noise and any position. They are pretty adorable! Tomorrow is Venice!!!!! Ahhh, I can't wait! Gianna told me tonight that this restaurant is supposedly the oldest restaurant in Venice! What an amazing experience! I just can't believe how lucky I am to have the family that I do here. They are so good to me and I just love them more and more everyday. Ciao for now and more from Venice tomorrow!
