Finally...time to really blog!!!

Ciao everyone!

I haven't had any time at all to write because they are very busy people and are always on the go. I will try to remember everything I can but there is so much to learn in a short amount of time.

Their home on the 3rd floor has my room, the girls' room, and office, and a nice bathroom. On the 4th floor is Gianna and Angelo's room, more like a loft with very low ceilings and a big full bathroom. It is very spacious and nice to have in Italy, where it looks like most people have very small flats with a big family.

So after Gianna took me to their house for a tour and Angelo took me around town, we ate dinner. It was so good! I am not starving here, that is for sure! They have very big portions here and eat the main course always first. Then, they eat the salad or side dishes later. I have had gelato at least twice a day since I have been here!!! I told them that my favorite flavor was pistachio and I have eaten it everyday since then! For the first night, we had pasta with a light sauce and hamburger meat in it. Then, a light salad with olive oil and vinegar. And always, lots of gelato! Their pasta portions are so big and everyone has it all finished before I do! My first night there for dinner, we had a guest over from Angelo's work. Her name was Brigette from Brussels, northern Europe. She spoke English very well and so we talked a lot and she helped me with some words that I could use to help the family understand me better. Finally, it was time to go to bed and I was just exhausted! I slept so well that I didn't hear the girls get up in the morning. Gianna and Angelo went to work, the girls went to school, and I was able to have this huge house all to myself!

Gianna keeps telling me that I can make or cook anything that I want so I attemped to make my own coffee on the stove. First, it is a gas powered stove so I don't really know how to use it very well. Then, they have a very small kettle to boil the water in the coffee grounds and it comes out very hot and fresh. It is kind of a tea kettle but only for coffee. There are different sizes, one for 2 people, one for 4 people, and one for about 5 people.

  1. The whole house to yourself?! That must have been awesome! Sounds like things are going really well so far. :)
